Jimmy Buffet Knew How to Chill

It has been a tense day in the world of me,
I have done that thing I do,
treading in waters maybe meant to be avoided
if you don't possess storm gear and sea-worthy vessels as aids.

And now I may be drowning, 
in vitriol and useless arguments.
(And those are just my thoughts).
Haven't even discussed the hate wave
bearing down from the anger of so many.

I have to save myself.
So, I am swimming for shore,
There I will run, walk, and stumble
as fast as possible
into denial, reality TV re-runs, and a frozen concoction,

one with a tropical sounding name and a cute umbrella.
